Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures advance on positive cues

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.19 per cent to Rs 312.70 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March increased by 60 paise in 106 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose Rs 8.05 to Rs 1,215.35 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 0.67 per cent in a turnover of 1,949 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Zinc futures rise on high bets
Zinc prices rose Rs 1.40 to Rs 328.35 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers.
Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up 0.43 per cent in 289 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise to limited buying at lower levels.
