Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures advance on increased participation

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose by Rs 1.90 to Rs 274.95 per kilogram in the domestic futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in December increased by Rs 1.90 or 0.7 per cent to Rs 274.95 per kg in a business turnover of 3,291 lots.
Zinc futures rise on higher demand
Zinc prices climbed Rs 2.25 to Rs 305.40 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for December delivery traded 0.74 per cent higher in a business turnover of 2,882 lots.
Copper futures fall on weak trend
Copper futures fell Rs 9.30 to Rs 1,045 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. Copper futures for the December contract eased 0.9 per cent in a turnover of 8,705 lots. Analysts attributed the decline in copper prices to lower bets by participants.
