Aluminium futures rise on increased participation

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose 85 paise to Rs 255.70 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in October increased 0.33 per cent in 4,017 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices.
Zinc futures climb on high demand
Zinc prices rose Rs 1.80 to Rs 275.85 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher 0.66 per cent in a business turnover of 296 lots.
Copper futures gain on fresh bets
Copper futures rose 0.27 per cent to Rs 905.95 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for October delivery grew Rs 2.40 in a business turnover of 904 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
