Aluminium futures advanced on fresh positions

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose by 70 paise to Rs 266.95 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in November increased 0.26 per cent in 960 lots.

Zinc futures slip on weaker trend

Zinc prices fell 0.26 per cent to Rs 288.75 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for November delivery traded lower by 75 paise in 1,243 lots. Trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market weighed on zinc prices.

Copper futures gain on high bets

Copper futures rose 0.49 per cent to Rs 1,003.80 per kilogram on Wednesday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for November delivery grew Rs 4.90 or 0.49 per cent to Rs 1,003.80 per kg in a business turnover of 4,646 lots.
