Sri City showcases its ‘Cooling City’ ecosystem at ACREX

SriCity, fast emerging as India’s ‘Cooling City’ with a concentration of leading air-conditioner manufacturers, is participating in ACREX India 2026 being held in Mumbai from March 12–14. A strong contingent of Sri City-based AC manufacturers and supply chain partners is also exhibiting at the event, reaffirming the city’s growing prominence as a major Air Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) manufacturing destination.

Organised by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), ACREX India is South Asia’s leading exhibition for HVAC&R sector. The annual expo serves as a premier platform for global manufacturers, innovators, policymakers and industry leaders to unveil advanced technologies, sustainable solutions and next-generation climate control systems.

Sharing his views, Sri City Managing Director Dr Ravindra Sannareddy said that ACREX offers a strategic platform to deepen industry linkages and highlight Sri City’s integrated ecosystem. “ACREX India 2026 provides an excellent platform to showcase Sri City’s integrated HVAC ecosystem and deepen industry partnerships. Today, nearly 40% of India’s air conditioners are manufactured here. With ongoing expansions by LG Electronics and Daikin Air-conditioning India Pvt. Ltd., Sri City’s share could rise to 60% by 2027 and potentially 70% by 2028, further strengthening its position as India’s leading AC manufacturing hub,” he noted.

At its pavilion, Sri City showcased its plug-and-play infrastructure, port-led logistics advantage, skilled workforce and seamless connectivity — factors that have enabled it to attract nearly all major AC brands operating in India. Over time, Sri City has evolved into one of the country’s largest concentrated hubs for room air-conditioner manufacturing, supporting both domestic consumption and export markets.

Sri City hosts leading companies such as Daikin, LG Electronics, Blue Star, Havells, Amber Enterprises, Hisense, Thermax, and Carrier, among others. Supporting them are 32 component supplier firms—including Nidec, Panasonic Life Solutions, and Adela Electricals, and others — together form a strong, integrated, and mutually reinforcing industrial ecosystem.

Most of these manufacturers and component suppliers are showcasing high-efficiency air-conditioning systems, eco-friendly refrigerant technologies, smart cooling solutions and advanced manufacturing processes at their respective stalls — collectively demonstrating the scale, depth and competitiveness of the Sri City cluster.
