EPFO: How to check your PF balance with a missed call or SMS

Good news for EPF subscribers! You can now check your Provident Fund (PF) balance and last contribution for free—simply by giving a missed call or sending an SMS from your registered mobile number. But before you use these services, make sure your Universal Account Number (UAN) is linked with either your Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account.
How to Check PF Balance with a Missed Call
Follow these steps:
Ensure your mobile number is linked to your UAN on the EPFO unified portal.
Confirm that your UAN is updated with any one of these KYC details: Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account.
Once done, give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
The call will automatically disconnect after a couple of rings—you won’t be charged.
You’ll then receive an SMS with your latest PF contribution details and current balance.
How to Check PF Balance via SMS
You can also check your PF details by sending an SMS. Here’s how:
From your registered mobile number, send a message in this format:
EPFOHO UAN (send it to 7738299899).
If you want the response in a regional language, add the first three letters of your preferred language after UAN.
For example:
To receive the message in Telugu, send: EPFOHO UAN TEL to 7738299899.
Supported languages include: English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali.
Things to Remember
Both services are free of charge.
Your mobile number must be linked with your UAN to use them.
These tools make it easy to stay updated on your EPF without logging into the portal or visiting the office.
Stay on top of your PF account effortlessly with these handy services from EPFO!
