Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, made her first emotional public statement following her husband’s tragic death. The 36-year-old, a former beauty queen and mother of two, spoke candidly about Charlie’s devotion to their family and his commitment to reviving the American family.
Erika, who was crowned Miss Arizona in 2012, is also a college athlete, podcast host, and ministry leader. She highlighted her husband’s love for their children and the deep bond they shared. “But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that every day,” she said, holding back tears.
Born on November 20, 1988, in Arizona, Erika attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale before pursuing political science and international relations at Arizona State University. She later earned a Juris Master degree and a doctorate in Christian leadership from Liberty University.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Erika is a social entrepreneur and philanthropist. She runs Proclaim Streetwear, works as a real estate agent with The Corcoran Group in New York City, and founded the nonprofit Everyday Heroes Like You. According to Erika, she is a “social entrepreneur, passionate ministry leader, and woman of deep faith whose life has been shaped by global experiences and a fiery commitment to purpose.”
Erika is set to earn her doctorate in Bible Studies and has simultaneously initiated a new ministry program in Biblical leadership. She is also the host of the Midweek Rise Up podcast, continuing to offer teachings about faith and leadership.
According to Erika when reflecting on her late husband's prioridades, "Charlie said if he ever ran for office, his top priority would be to revive the American family. That was his top priority."
Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University in Utah. The conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder passed away on the same day, leaving behind Erika and their two young children.
