Majority of the federal and state non-essential government institutions will be shut down for the entire day due to the holiday being celebrated at the federal level.
Regular mail delivery will be halted by the USPS with the exception of Priority Mail service.
Many schools in the area will be closed, however, some private or local authorities may decide to remain operational.

The likes of Walmart, Target, and Costco, among other major retailers and supermarkets, will be operational, with a good number of them providing discounts for veterans and running special promotions.
Companies like UPS and FedEx will be working on trails that are more limited than normal, but they will still have the essential routes going through.
