U.S. President Donald Trump said that the new tariff rates are based on “common sense” and trade imbalances. However, this is quite different from what he wrote in his letter to Brazil, AP reported.

Trump admitted that he didn’t consider imposing tariffs on countries whose leaders were currently visiting him at the White House. The visiting countries include Liberia, Senegal, Gabon, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau. He said “These are friends of mine now.”

Trump claimed that countries have no problem with the outlined tariffs in his letters. Moreover, these rates are largely similar to ones announced on April 2.

“We haven’t had many complaints,” Trump said, “because I’m keeping the rates low, very conservative, as you’d say.”

Here’s the complete list of countries who are getting impacted by the move:

Brazil

Donald Trump decided to impose a 50% tariff on imports arriving from Brazil, starting August 1. He also called the trial of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro a “witch hunt”, adding that the “trial should not take place.”

Japan

From August 1, the US is set to increase the tariff on Japanese goods from 24% to 25%. The US imports automobiles, auto parts, and electronics from Japan. Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba described the tariff as “extremely regrettable” but affirmed Japan’s commitment to ongoing negotiations.

Kazakhstan

The US will impose a 25% tariff on imports from Kazakhstan from August 1. Kazakhstan exports include oil, uranium, ferroalloys, and silver to the US.

Malaysia

From August 1, the US raised its tariff on Malaysian goods to 25% from 24%, announced in April. Malaysia exports electronics and electrical products to the US. To address the issue, Malaysian government is set to engage in discussions with Washington

South Korea

Goods coming from South Korea will attract a 25% tariff from August 1. The rate remained unchanged from the earlier announcement made in April. South Korea's main exports to the U.S. include vehicles, machinery, and electronics. South Korea said on Tuesday that it will speed up negotiations with Washington in hopes of reaching a deal before the tariff is enforced, Associated Press reported.

Tunisia

From August 1, the US will impose a 25% tariff on Tunisian imports. Tunisia exports animal and vegetable fats, clothing, and various fruits and nuts to the US.

Philippines

Starting from August 1, imports from Philippines will attract a tariff of 20%, from the earlier stated 17% rate set in April.

Myanmar

The US has imposed a tariff of 40% on imports coming from Myanmar. Key imports include Clothing, leather goods and seafood.

Laos

The US has imposed a tariff of 40% on Laos, starting from August 1. Key exports to the US include shoes with textile uppers, wood furniture, electronic components and optical fibre.

Cambodia

Imports from Cambodia will attract a tariff rate of 36% from the whopping 49% announced in April. Key exports to the US include textiles, clothing, shoes and bicycles.

Thailand

Imports from Thailand will attract a tariff rate of 36% starting August 1.

Bangladesh

Imports from Bangladesh to the US will attract a tariff rate of 35% starting 1 August.

Serbia

Imports from Serbia will attract a tariff rate of 35% from August 1.

Indonesia

US will impose a tariff rate of 32% on imports coming Indonesia

Algeria

Goods arriving from Algeria will attract a tariff rate of 30% starting 1 August.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Goods arriving from Bosnia and Herzegovina will attract a tariff rate of 30% from August 1.

Iraq

Goods imported Iraq attract a tariff rate of 30%

Libya

Goods imported Libya attract a tariff rate of 30%. Key Exports to the US include petroleum products.

South Africa

Goods imported from Libya attract a tariff rate of 30%. Key Exports to the US include platinum, diamonds, vehicles and auto parts.

Sri Lanka

Goods imported from Sri Lanka attract a tariff rate of 30% starting 1 August.

Brunei

Goods bought from Brunei will attract a tariff of 25%.

The US will slash tariffs on Moldovan goods to 25% beginning August 1, down from the 31% rate announced in April.
