Trump Calls for 15% Limit on Foreign Students, Accuses Harvard of Failing American Interests

Trump vs Harvard: US president Donald Trump has called for Harvard University to lower the proportion of students from abroad it accepts to about 15% cap on foreign students. Trump's comments follow recent government decisions that stopped federal funds for Harvard and restricted its capacity to accept students from overseas.
"I believe they should set some sort of cap, maybe 15 percent, not 31 percent. There are people who want to attend Harvard and other prestigious schools but aren't able to be admitted because we have foreign students in the schools," Trump told media in his Oval Office.
In the last month in the Trump administration stopped $2.2 billion of federal aid in the direction of Harvard. In addition, it prevented the school from accepting additional international students. This was due to Harvard to be great again to fulfill federal demands for addressing instances of antisemitism as well as the sharing of lists of international students as well as their nationalities to authorities.
"Harvard is treating us with indignation," Trump said, as he added, "I want Harvard to become great once again." Trump also spoke of the possibility of transferring federal funds to Harvard and instead focusing on trade schools.
Trump declared that he would prefer that $5 billion be transferred to Harvard into trade institutions. He also accused Harvard as well as other institutions, for being discriminatory towards Jews declaring that this behaviour is now "very disclosed".
He further stated that each when the university rebuffs attempts by the government, it will lose the additional 250 million dollars in funds. According to Trump officials, the university has identified another $100 million that could be taken away. He also pointed out Trump demands cap on foreign students has an endowment of $52 billion the majority of which, he said, was a gift through government funds. "I think it's absurd," Trump said, according to the New York Post.
