What is the story?
Kavya Rajaram (Shraddha Srinath) is a game developer. She falls in love with Anoop (Santosh Pratap), who works in her company, and marries him. Kavya, who is always active on social media, is often the target of trolls. The game she designed, titled 'Glass Ceiling', also wins an award. On the night of receiving the award, Kavya is attacked by unknown people who went to meet her friend. They take her purse, phone, and the award from her, leaving her seriously injured. Inspector Bhanumathi (Chandni) starts investigating the case. Parallel to the police, Kavya, with the help of the tech team in her office, also attacks her and inquires about them. Who attacked her? What is the reason for the attack in the game that Anoop created and why did she wear a mask? How did they find the people behind this? This is the story of the film.
How are you?
We all think that technology has advanced a lot and that we are getting many benefits from it. But, at the same time, there are people who misuse it. We are constantly reading news about morphing photos of everyone from celebrities to common people, putting their personal details online, creating and posting their videos in an obscene manner through AI. The director launched the series 'The Game' to entertain the atrocities happening in society using technology for their own selfish interests. The series started with Kavya lying on the beach with injuries, and then he moved on by touching on many things like her background, office affairs, and the humiliations faced by average women in their working lives.
The story becomes more interesting after the attack on Kavya. The way the screenplay is designed with the police investigating the case on one side and Kavya on the other, and the main characters in the story being suspicious is good. (The Game You Never Play Alone review) The mistakes made by teenagers, video chatting, and all the things happening in today's digital world are mentioned in this series. The story takes another turn when another woman is attacked in the same way as the attack on Kavya. The way the last two episodes are crafted is entertaining. However, since the series is set in limited locations like Kavya and her office, the story feels like it is moving here and there. Although the episodes are short in length, it feels like some scenes have been stretched.
Shraddha Srinath impressed with her performance in the role of Kavya. She entertained as a woman with modern feelings. Santosh Pratap, Chandni and other actors did justice to their roles. Technically, the series is good. Deepthi Govindarajan has written the story and narration to reflect today's real situations. Director Rajesh has presented them on screen just as effectively. The final episodes where the twist is revealed are entertaining.
Can you watch with your family: You can watch it without any hassle. Total of seven episodes. Each is 30-35 minutes. Telugu audio is also available on Netflix.
