Sony WH-1000XM6: Colours, Pricing, and Shipping Dates Revealed Early Ahead of Official Launch
Sony leaks WH-1000XM6 pricing, colors, and shipping dates early; pre-orders start May 15 with global shipments from May 16 in select regions.
Sony has accidentally revealed key details about its upcoming flagship wireless headphones, the WH-1000XM6, ahead of the official launch. The next-generation over-ear headphones—set to replace the popular WH-1000XM5—are expected to become available for pre-order globally starting May 15, with shipments beginning May 16 in several regions.
Early Listings Leak Pricing and Colour Options
Although Sony has yet to make a formal announcement, search listings on its regional websites in Europe and the UK have prematurely disclosed pricing and colour variants for the WH-1000XM6. According to these early listings:
- The WH-1000XM6 will retail for €449.99 in the Eurozone and £399.98 in the UK—a notable price increase over its predecessor.
- The headphones will be available in Black, Midnight Blue, and Platinum Silver colourways.
These details were first spotted by The Walkman Blog, although the product pages themselves remain inactive as of this writing.
No North America Confirmation Yet
While Sony has confirmed pricing and shipping details in Europe and the UK, there’s still no official word on the North American launch. Early indications suggest that the WH-1000XM6 may not be released in the U.S. at the same time.
Tied to ‘Chapter 6’ Teaser
Sony recently hinted at the upcoming launch with a cryptic “Chapter 6” teaser, widely believed to refer specifically to the WH-1000XM6. While speculation existed that the WF-1000XM6 earbuds might also debut, leaks and this latest reveal indicate that only the over-ear model is launching for now.
The WH-1000XM6 will succeed the WH-1000XM5, which remains a strong contender in the premium noise-cancelling headphone space. With upgraded internals and new styling anticipated, Sony's sixth-gen headphones aim to set a new benchmark for wireless audio.
