Perplexity AI Joins WhatsApp: Your New Chat Genius Is Just a Text Away

Perplexity AI also reached WhatsApp and launched its chatbot directly in the instant

messaging app. Interestingly enough, the chatbot was available on Telegram prior to

this using the name "askplexbot.".

Since there's WhatsApp integration, Perplexity does not require sign-up or login for

access to its services — contrary to its own native app that asks users to create an

account.

With WhatsApp, users can pose questions, research, summarize content and design

personalized images for free. The project is designed to make AI-driven help more

accessible, especially in areas where WhatsApp is the most used mode of

communication.

Rivals like OpenAI are already doing this, and Perplexity is following suit as part of

an effort to grow its user base.

Voice interaction, meme and video creation, fact-checking capabilities, and an

assistant-like support will join WhatsApp integration with Perplexity in the near future,

Srinivas further added. Integration with group chat is also in the works but could take

longer because of existing limitations with the WhatsApp app programming interface

(API).

At the same time, Perplexity has added voice mode and other enhanced capabilities

to its iOS app, placing it on an equal footing with AI assistant as a multiterm, cross-

application-enabled tool that has long been available to Android users.

without any delay. Users also have the option to type the number in the search field

and begin a chat by tapping on Perplexity's name.
