Oravel Stays, the parent company of the IPO-bound hospitality behemoth OYO, has announced a significant corporate rebranding. In an effort to unify its disparate businesses under a single global identity, the company will now be known as Prism.

The new name was chosen through a worldwide public naming competition that received over 6,000 entries, OYO founder and chairman Ritesh Agarwal disclosed in a letter to shareholders. Prism Life, or just Prism, will be the new corporate name.

Why Prism?

  • The goal of the rebranding, according to Agarwal, is to create a corporate architecture that is ready for the future and represents the company's expanding portfolio.
  • According to Agarwal, "Prism will act as the umbrella for all of our varied businesses, assisting us in communicating who we are and working more effectively while maintaining the distinctiveness of each brand."
  • He explained that Prism will serve as the parent brand, combining luxury retreats, extended stays, celebration spaces, high-end hotels, and tech-driven hospitality solutions, while OYO will remain the primary consumer-facing brand for low- and mid-range travel.

An Expanding Worldwide Portfolio

OYO was founded in 2012 and currently serves more than 100 million customers in more than 35 countries. Its growing portfolio consists of:

  • Hotels: Palette, Sunday, Townhouse, Motel 6, and OYO
  • Vacation Rentals: Studio Prestige, DanCenter, CheckMyGuest, and Belvilla
  • Studio 6 (via G6 Hospitality, US) for Extended Stays
  • Venues for Work and Events: Weddingz.in and Innov8
  • Hospitality Tech: AI-driven partner tools and data science platforms

With its rebranding, Prism aims to strengthen its position as a diversified global travel-tech platform while preparing for its much-anticipated IPO.
