In a major relief amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, two evacuation flights under Operation Sindhu safely landed in New Delhi, bringing home hundreds of stranded Indian citizens from Iran. The arrival of the flights sparked emotional scenes at the Delhi airport, with passengers breaking into patriotic chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Hindustan Zindabad’.

The first evacuation flight arrived early Friday morning, carrying 290 Indian nationals. The second flight landed on Saturday, bringing more evacuees back to safety as Iran eased restrictions on its airspace.

Operation Sindhu was launched by the Indian government as a strategic mission to evacuate its citizens from the conflict zone in the Middle East. Among those on board were students, religious pilgrims, and workers—many of whom described the situation in Iran as tense and uncertain.

Tazkiya Fatima, a resident of Noida and one of the evacuees, shared her experience:

“There is a situation of war over there. We were unsure how we would get out, but the Indian government made the process incredibly smooth. I’m truly thankful for their efforts.”

The returnees praised the Indian authorities for their swift and well-coordinated action, expressing gratitude for being brought home safely amid escalating tensions in the region.
