No More Mail: India Suspends All Deliveries from Pakistan

The Union government on Saturday put on hold the exchange of all types of mail and parcels from Pakistan by both air and land routes.
" According to the public notice issued by the department of posts: "The Government of India has decided to lock on exchange of all types incoming mails and parcels from Pakistan, air or land, registered or otherwise".
The decision is taken hours after India banned the import of all items from Pakistan immediately in the direct and indirect modes.
It also prohibited Pakistani ships from arriving in Indian ports and Indian ships from visiting ports in Pakistan.
This ruling has effectively halted importation of products from Pakistan into India. Significantly, India-Pakistan trade balance during April-January 2024-25 indicates India's exports to Pakistan were worth USD 447.65 million compared to imports worth a paltry USD 0.42 million, PTI said.
The moves follow a terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, which left 26 dead. In response to the patronage evidence against cross-border terrorism from Pakistan, India went on to announce a series of actions.
These steps include postponing the Indus Waters Treaty, shutting the Integrated Check Post at Attari, and bringing down the complement of High Commissions.
" All categories of visa issued in the names of the namesakes are canceled by the Indian administration to ensure security, in principle. They are now required to leave thereby 30th April. India also shut down its air space to operations by Pakistani airliners.
For the past eight continuous days, the Pakistani troops have been breaching the ceasefire along the borders, opening small arms fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
