Miss England 2024, Milla Magee, withdrew from the ongoing Miss World 2025 pageant held in Telangana, citing personal and ethical concerns. Following reports in the British media alleging negative experiences during the event, the Miss World Organisation has issued a detailed response and released unedited videos to set the record straight.

Ms. Magee had told The Sun that the pageant environment did not meet her expectations of “beauty with a purpose,” with allegations including requests for contestants to socialize with middle-aged men as a gesture of gratitude for their financial support.

However, Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, called these claims “completely unfounded and inconsistent” with the reality of the competition.

The organisation explained that Milla Magee initially requested to leave due to a reported family emergency involving her mother’s health. Julia Morley, herself a mother and grandmother, responded with compassion and promptly arranged for Ms. Magee’s return to England.

Miss World organisers also addressed other claims, including expectations for contestants to wear makeup constantly and remain dressed in ball gowns throughout the day.

In response to the media reports, the organisation released unedited video footage of Miss England’s time in India, in which she expresses gratitude and enjoyment of the experience, contradicting the recent negative narratives.

Following Miss Magee’s departure, Charlotte Grant, the first runner-up of Miss England, stepped in to represent the country and has been “warmly welcomed” into the Miss World community.

The Miss World Organisation reaffirmed its commitment to the values of truth, dignity, and “Beauty With a Purpose,” urging media outlets to exercise journalistic integrity and verify facts before publishing.
