Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said that today will be the most intense day of U.S. strikes inside Iran. Tehran is opening the gate of its own wave of attacks against Israel and the Gulf.

Being a part of a morning news conference at the Pentagon, Mr. Hegseth said that “the most fighters, the most bombers” would be deployed on Tuesday. The U.S. military was giving Mr. Trump “maximum options” to carry on the war.

The global oil prices surged and then dipped, US President Trump threatened “death, fire and fury” if Iran maintains blocking the key passage of Hormuz. Tehran hit back, vowing it won’t permit “one litre of oil” to leave the Middle East until US and Israeli attacks stop. A top Iranian official warned Trump to be cautious not to be “removed” himself.

Benchmark crude prices have hiked significantly in last few days, with Brent crude climbing more than $100 per barrel and at times rising past $114 as traders priced in the risk of supply disruptions across the Gulf area. This spike is considered as one of the biggest increases in global energy markets in the last few years. It is directly driven by uncertainty that the conflict could limit exports from the main oil producers in the Middle East.

Middle East geopolitical tensions warn that prolonged fighting could send crude prices toward $110 or higher. It can even intensifying inflation pressures globally and raising fuel costs for consumers. If the conflict spreads ahead or shipping routes stay threatened, energy markets could face prolonged instability in the weeks ahead.
