Massive Fire at 67-Storey Dubai Skyscraper; Over 3,800 Residents Evacuated Safely

A major fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle residential tower in Dubai Marina, triggering a large-scale emergency response. Authorities confirmed that all 3,820 residents from 764 apartments were evacuated safely, with no injuries or casualties reported.

Dubai Civil Defence teams battled the blaze for six hours before bringing it under control, with ongoing cooling operations to prevent re-ignition. Specialised firefighting and rescue units ensured that every individual, including pets, was safely escorted out of the building.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed the evacuation was completed without incident, emphasizing that control measures remain fully in place as firefighters continue to manage the situation. Smoke still visible at the site is attributed to the cooling efforts.

Authorities are coordinating with the building’s developer to arrange temporary housing for displaced residents, prioritising their safety and well-being. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

This is not the first fire at Marina Pinnacle. In 2015, a kitchen fire on the 47th floor briefly spread to the floor above before being contained. The tower is also near The Torch, another residential skyscraper that experienced fires in 2015 and 2017.

Some residents reported confusion during the initial response, citing a lack of fire alarms or delayed warnings inside the building. Several only became aware of the fire after noticing emergency vehicles outside or neighbours alerting them.

The fire started around 9:30 PM, drawing crowds and a swift response from Dubai Civil Defence, police, and medical teams. Social media videos showed residents evacuating through smoke-filled corridors.

Despite the initial chaos, the emergency services executed a coordinated evacuation without any casualties. Firefighters guided residents safely through stairwells and elevators, earning praise for their efforts.
