Marc Marquez has tightened his grip on the 2025 MotoGP World Championship lead following a dramatic French Grand Prix at Le Mans, the sixth round of the season. The Ducati Lenovo rider now sits comfortably at the top of the standings with 171 points, extending his lead after both of his closest rivals — Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia — crashed out of the race.

Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Ducati) remains second in the championship on 149 points, now trailing his older brother by 22 points. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) retains third despite his DNF, but now finds himself 51 points adrift.

French veteran Johann Zarco was the standout performer at Le Mans, claiming a sensational home victory aboard the Castrol Honda LCR RC213V. The win boosts Zarco up one spot to sixth in the standings with 72 points, just two points behind Fabio di Giannantonio (Pertamina VR46 Ducati) in fifth.

Fellow Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Monster Yamaha) slips one position to seventh with 56 points, while young Spanish talent Fermin Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Ducati) surges three places to eighth after an impressive ride.

Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM) also gained ground, moving up to ninth. Meanwhile, Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) and Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) both lost positions after underwhelming results.

The updated top 5 standings after Round 6:

Marc Marquez (SPA) – 171 pts

Alex Marquez (SPA) – 149 pts (-22)

Francesco Bagnaia (ITA) – 120 pts (-51)

Franco Morbidelli (ITA) – 85 pts (-86)

Fabio di Giannantonio (ITA) – 74 pts (-97)

With 16 races remaining in the 2025 season, the championship battle is still wide open—but Marc Marquez’s experience and consistency may prove tough to beat.
