JD Vance urges India to pursue restraint, avoid escalation after Pahalgam terror attack
In announcing that India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack is to be able to avoid the possibility of escalating conflicts in the region, US Vice-President JD Vance said he hoped Pakistan will work in conjunction with India to find those responsible for the attack.

US Vice-President JD Vance today (local time) declared the Washington is hoping that India will take its time in order to avoid a larger regional conflict after the last week's terrorist incident that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. He also declared that the US would like to see Pakistan will cooperate with India to track down terrorists from Pakistan.
In an interview during an interview on Fox News, Vance made his famous remark about the incident, which resulted in 26 victims dead. In particular, Vance and his family was in India on a visit lasting four days at the time the tragedy - the most horrific since the Pulwama massacre against CRPF personnel in the year 2019 occurred.
"Our hope here is that India responds to this terrorist attack in a way that doesn't lead to a broader regional conflict," Vance spoke on Fox News interview "Special Report With Bret Baier'.
"And we hope, frankly, that Pakistan, to the extent that they're responsible for Kashmir terror attack, cooperates with India to make sure that the terrorists sometimes operating in their territory are hunted down and dealt with," the official added.
The Vice President's remarks take on significance in the context of rising between India-Pakistan tensions following Pahalgam. Vance that was in India this month, been able to condemn the incident and expressed her solidarity with the families of victims in a blog post on X.
The Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 25 tourists as well as one local, was among the terrorist attack on people living in the Kashmir Valley in recent times. The terrorists planned the attack for an idyllic meadow that required hiking or the services of a pony to reach the area.
