In a remarkable feat, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has achieved its highest-ever viewership for the first 10 matches, as per the official broadcaster. According to the BARC data released by Disney Star, the tournament's overall watch-time has surged to a staggering 8028 crore minutes, marking a significant 20 percent increase compared to the previous year.

With a viewership of 35 crore in the initial 10 matches, this edition of the IPL has surpassed all previous records, including those set during the seasons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanjog Gupta, Head of Disney Star (Sports), expressed their elation at the extraordinary viewing figures, attributing the success to fan-centric initiatives aimed at fostering passion and fandom for the tournament.

Disney Star has gone above and beyond in broadcasting the IPL, covering it across 14 feeds in 10 languages. Additionally, they have introduced a special feed in Indian Sign Language to cater to Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and Visually Impaired fans.

The IPL's opening day witnessed a spectacular start with 16.8 crore viewers tuning in to witness the clash between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. Notably, this day also saw a record-breaking watch-time of 1276 crore minutes, the highest-ever for the inaugural day of any IPL season.

The success of the IPL 2024 season underscores its enduring popularity and the unwavering support of fans across the nation.
