In Head Over Heels, Episode 10 throws a supernatural curveball, blending quirky charm with emotional weight as we inch closer to the finale. The series continues to win hearts with its blend of ghostly chaos and youthful tenderness—especially with its newest “bad boy,” Bong-su, the cheeky ghost now fully in control of Bae Gyeon-woo’s (Choo Young-woo) body.
Bong-su's Secret Unravels
The episode picks up with Seong-ah (Cho Yi-hyun), the ever-watchful teen shaman, catching on to Bong-su’s possession of Gyeon-woo. Her goal? Find a way to help Bong-su peacefully cross over, sparing Gyeon-woo further harm. But sending off a ghost who’s finally enjoying the pleasures of human life is no easy task.
Comedy with a Hint of Creepy
This chapter leans into humor, with Bong-su relishing his new body. His goofy, energetic antics charm everyone—except Seong-ah and Ji-ho (Cha Kang-yoon), who see through the act. His obvious crush on Seong-ah leads to some hilarious (and harmlessly clingy) moments, while the rest of the school is falling harder for this upgraded, livelier version of their archery champion.
Choo Young-woo deserves praise for flawlessly toggling between the intense Gyeon-woo and the bubbly ghost Bong-su, offering a masterclass in dual performance. Meanwhile, Cho Yi-hyun continues to be the emotional anchor, carrying the supernatural drama with poise and wit.
Trouble Brews in the Shadows
Behind the laughs, darkness looms. Evil spirit Yeom-hwa (Chu Ja-hyeon) intensifies her efforts to take control of Bong-su’s soul. Shamans Dongcheon (Kim Mi-kyung) and Do-ryeong (Yoon Byung-hee) do their best to resist her, leading to a thrilling shamanic ritual in the haunted house where the show’s eerie events began.
A Twist That Hurts
As the episode draws to a close, it pulls the rug from under viewers with a devastating plot twist. Just when it seems like light-hearted high-school drama might win out, the narrative pivots to something much darker. For fans rooting for Seong-ah’s peace and happiness, the cliffhanger is a painful one.
Verdict:
Episode 10 delivers both laughs and gut-punch emotion in a beautifully balanced installment. With just two episodes remaining, Head Over Heels is gearing up for an unforgettable finale.
