Speculation around US President Donald Trump’s health escalated today after the American flag was seen flying at half-mast atop the White House. The sight quickly triggered online frenzy, with “TRUMP IS DEAD” trending on X as users questioned the president’s whereabouts.

However, official sources have clarified that the flag lowering has nothing to do with Trump’s health. Instead, it was ordered by the president himself to mourn victims of the Minneapolis church shooting, which left two people dead and 17 injured earlier this week. Flags across federal buildings will remain at half-mast until August 31 as a mark of respect.

Concerns Over Trump’s Health

The 79-year-old president’s health has been a subject of public debate after a visible bruise on his right hand was noticed during his Oval Office meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on August 25. Trump has since made limited public appearances, fueling rumours about his condition.

White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella dismissed the concerns, explaining that the bruise was due to soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes and aspirin use, part of a standard heart-health regimen. He stressed that the president is in “excellent cognitive and physical health.”

Vice President’s Response

Amid the chatter, Vice President JD Vance reassured the nation, saying he is confident Trump remains in good shape. “The president has incredible energy… he will serve out his term and continue to deliver for the American people,” Vance told USA Today.

While speculation continues online, officials have reiterated that the half-mast flag is solely in memory of the Minneapolis tragedy and not linked to Trump’s health.
