According to a recent report, Rockstar Games initially intended Grand Theft Auto VI to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by featuring three playable protagonists. This early version of the story reportedly underwent several reboots during development, with Take-Two Interactive allegedly overseeing at least three major narrative overhauls.
Much like GTA V, which allowed players to switch between Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, the early concept for GTA 6 was set to revolve around three distinct characters:
- A police officer based in Vice City
- The officer’s son
- A trusted enforcer working for a powerful Colombian drug lord
Later revisions of the storyline reportedly replaced this trio with a new dynamic duo — a female police officer and a male character described as a Trevor-like drug smuggler.
The final direction of GTA 6 remains under wraps, but Rockstar has confirmed the game will mark a return to Vice City and promises a bold evolution of the series’ narrative and open-world design. As development continues, fans are eagerly awaiting more official details.
Stay tuned for updates as more information surfaces about what could be Rockstar’s most ambitious project yet.
