Google has introduced an exciting update to its Gemini app, enabling users to upload videos for analysis and interact with the content. This new feature lets users ask questions about video clips or receive detailed descriptions, enhancing the app’s functionality.
Currently available on select iOS and Android devices, the video analysis tool allows Gemini to identify objects, actions, and text within uploaded videos. Users can also rewatch the clip directly within the app through a video player interface positioned above the chat window.
However, this feature has not yet been rolled out universally. It remains unavailable on the web version of Gemini, where users attempting to upload videos receive a “File type unsupported” message. Additionally, the Gemini app’s built-in camera still lacks the ability to capture video.
Google continues to refine Gemini’s capabilities, promising further improvements to video analysis in future updates. This rollout marks a significant step toward more interactive and multimedia-driven AI experiences on mobile platforms.
