Long lines and delays reported at major U.S. airports as FAA faces staffing shortages amid the ongoing government shutdown.

Flight operations at various major airports across the US faced troubles on the third day because of a lack of staff of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which was affecting and slowing down the air traffic system.
The FAA reports showed that the main airports in Nashville, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, and Philadelphia were among the most affected while the traffic control centers in Atlanta, Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth region have also been the subject of fewer workforces.

As part of the national airspace system update, the FAA has pointed out that ground stops and delays that are intermittent might be the order of the day at some major airports, in particular, at:
- Reagan Washington National Airport (Virginia)
- Philadelphia International Airport
- Miami International Airport
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (Florida)
- San Francisco International Airport
- LaGuardia Airport (New York City)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (New Jersey)

The FAA has not yet said which of these terminal stops are directly connected to a lack of staff.
