A Pakistan Super League (PSL) match scheduled for Thursday evening has been postponed after a drone strike hit the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium just hours before the game, sources confirmed to India Today TV.

The high-profile fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, slated to begin at 8 PM, was called off following the incident. The drone reportedly caused damage to parts of the stadium, raising serious security concerns.

The strike comes amid escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan. Earlier in the day, Islamabad allegedly attempted to target 15 military sites within Indian territory. In retaliation, Indian forces destroyed Pakistan’s air defence radar installations in Lahore.

This sudden escalation has left security agencies in both nations on high alert. Reports suggest the Rawalpindi drone strike may have been part of a broader attempt to disrupt strategic locations, though no official confirmation has been provided yet regarding the source or target of the drone.

As of now, no casualties have been reported from the stadium, and investigations are underway.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to release an official statement soon regarding the rescheduling of the match and future PSL fixtures.
