Congratulations Team India for a roaring entry into the 2023 ICC World Cup Finals!

In a spectacular display of individual brilliance and cohesive team performance, India secured a spot in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final by defeating New Zealand in the semifinal at Wankhede Stadium on November 15, 2023. Virat Kohli's remarkable 50th ODI century, Shreyas Iyer's century, and Mohammed Shami's exceptional seven-wicket haul were the key highlights of India's victory, sealing a 70-run win over Kane Williamson's team.

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma's aggressive start set the tone as he scored 47 runs in 29 balls. Shubman Gill, who remained unbeaten with 80 runs, played a crucial role alongside Kohli and Shreyas in building a formidable total. Kohli's innings of 117 runs and Shreyas Iyer's quickfire 105 propelled India to an imposing score of 397 for four in 50 overs.

Chasing the challenging target, New Zealand started well with openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, but Shami's opening delivery claimed Conway's wicket. Despite a resilient 181-run partnership between Williamson and Daryl Mitchell, Shami's exceptional bowling, including a seven-wicket haul, proved too much for the Kiwis. Mitchell's valiant 134 runs were not enough as New Zealand concluded their innings at 327 in 48.5 overs.

India's victory marked a redemption from their loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semifinal. With this win, Rohit Sharma's team secured a place in the final scheduled for November 19 in Ahmedabad, where they will face the winner of the Australia-South Africa semifinal. The Wankhede Stadium witnessed a thrilling clash, highlighting the Men in Blue's dominance in both individual and team performances.
