The husband of Kristin Cabot, who drew widespread attention after appearing on Coldplay’s kiss cam with her former boss, has addressed the incident publicly for the first time.

Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum, spoke through a spokeswoman confirming that he will not comment further on the matter. She stated that the couple had already been “privately and amicably separated” weeks before the July 16 Coldplay concert in Boston, where Kristin was seen with ex-boss Andy Bryon on the jumbotron.

Reports surfaced in early September indicating that Kristin had filed for divorce from Andrew. The spokeswoman emphasized that the legal proceedings were underway prior to the concert, noting that Andrew hopes this statement brings “respectful closure” to speculation while preserving his family’s privacy.

At the concert, Kristin Cabot and Andy Bryon were captured in an unexpected embrace on the giant screen. The footage, showing Bryon turning away and Kristin covering her face, quickly went viral.
