Global K-pop sensation BTS has officially announced their long-awaited comeback and world tour for 2026, marking the group's return after completing mandatory military service.

🔹 Military Service Timeline and Reunion

Since December 2022, BTS had been on hiatus as members fulfilled their military duties, beginning with Jin, followed by J-Hope, and the rest completing enlistment by the end of 2023. The final member, SUGA, was discharged on June 21, 2025, allowing the full group to reunite for new projects.

🔹 When Was the Comeback Announced?

The announcement came during a live broadcast on Weverse on July 1, 2025, marking their first group appearance together since September 2022. The stream garnered over 7.3 million live views, underscoring ARMY’s global excitement.

🔹 BTS Album Release Date

While a specific release date hasn't been finalized, BTS confirmed that their next album will drop in spring 2026. Industry insiders had earlier hinted at a March 2026 release, though the timeline may still shift based on production schedules.

🔹 Is the Album Completed?

Not yet. The group revealed that they haven’t begun work on the album as of early July 2025. Instead, BTS will be traveling to the United States this month to begin recording sessions with top-tier producers. The album will reflect the individual thoughts and collective experiences of the seven members.

“We’re approaching this album like we did in the beginning — full of passion and authenticity,” the group said during the live stream.

🔹 BTS World Tour 2026

Alongside the album, BTS also confirmed plans for a global tour in 2026, their first since 2022's Permission to Dance on Stage. While dates and venues haven't been revealed, the tour will cover multiple countries, allowing BTS to reconnect with fans worldwide.

“We’ll be visiting fans all over the world,” said the members, “so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”

The last time BTS toured was in 2022, with concerts in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, along with their free “Yet to Come” concert in Busan.

Stay tuned as more details on BTS's 2026 album and tour are expected in the coming months.
