In late 2025 or early 2026, Apple is supposedly getting ready to release the next-generation iPad Pro, which will be powered by the M5 chip. The forthcoming M5 iPad Pro will have a dual front-facing camera configuration, a significant modification meant to enhance the user experience in both portrait and landscape modes, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
After receiving mixed reviews for the M4 iPad Pro, Apple moved the front camera to the landscape edge to improve video conversations while docked. This new design is a reaction to those comments. While some users found the change useful, others found using portrait mode to be difficult. With two cameras, one on the portrait side and one on the landscape edge, Apple hopes to provide smooth video calling and Face ID identification in all configurations.
Beyond the camera improvements, the M5 iPad Pro is anticipated to retain a large portion of the M4 model's design. Up to 2TB of storage, USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 compatibility, and 11- and 13-inch OLED screens with ProMotion (10Hz–120Hz) refresh rates are probably going to be retained. It is anticipated that the 12MP sensor, LiDAR scanner, and LED flash on the back camera system will not change.
Apple's potent M5 CPU, which will power the tablet, is expected to provide better multitasking experience and longer battery life, particularly for creative and professional applications. Probably before the MacBook Pros with the M5 processor, it will be the first Apple product to use the M5.
