An Air India flight traveling from Phuket to New Delhi made an emergency landing in Thailand on Friday after receiving a bomb threat mid-air. Flight AI-379, carrying 156 passengers, landed safely and is currently being inspected by Thai aviation authorities and security agencies.

According to reports by Reuters and local airport officials, the threat was received while the aircraft was in Thai airspace, prompting immediate action from the crew and emergency landing protocols. All passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries have been reported.

Authorities are now conducting thorough checks on the aircraft and passenger luggage. Security teams, including bomb disposal units, have been deployed at the airport.

“This is a developing story. We are working closely with Thai officials to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew,” said an Air India spokesperson.

Earlier Flight Diversion Adds to Concerns

In a separate incident earlier on Friday, Air India Flight AIC129, operating from Mumbai to London, was diverted back to India mid-flight. While no official reason has been disclosed, flight tracking data confirmed the aircraft made a U-turn shortly after departure. The airline has yet to release an official statement regarding the cause.

These back-to-back incidents come amid heightened aviation safety concerns following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad, which claimed 241 lives.
