We all know how much impact September 11 had on the United States. The tragedy took years to recover from. This is the 24th anniversary of the very event that gave birth to terror-something the world had never seen before.

A cataclysm that Changed History

On September 11, 2001, one could look from the outside at the United States and view it as one of the world’s most powerful nations. However, the dazzling image came crumbling down at 8:46 AM. Ordinary citizens started their day at home, in the office, and even on the planes that were bound to perfection. At the end of the day, everyone seemed to play their part in the tragedy. The impact of the terror attack was felt 24 years back and the repercussions lost our sense of time.

Two planes collided and a pair of towers crumpled under smoke and fire in a matter of days. The world watched and felt the monument of democracy break to its knees. Just offshore, citizens were left horrified as one gate perished under a wave of fire. It is said that approximately 3,000 people were killed on that very day under the bombs and planes that the world had never seen before, and the power of the country vanished.

A National and Human Catastrophe

Pro crastination is supposed to be a negative time to leave. However, a sense of satiation is filled due to the emotional imagery captured from that day . It is the reason why civilians had to sacrifice their lives.

Not just New York, a plane also hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and in Pennsylvania, United Airlines Flight 93 crashed after passengers valiantly fought the hijackers and couldn’t let them accomplish what they set out to do.

The Aftermath and Legacy

In addition to reshaping U.S. security policies, the 9/11 attacks also instigated two whole decades of conflict that the U.S had to face and intensified the efforts on global terrorism. For a significant part of the US population, this day still serves as a symbol of incredible determination, togetherness, and selflessness.

Honoring the Heroes

On this day, as the US commemorates the 24th anniversary of 9/11, the whole country still pays respect to the victims and pays tribute to the courageous first responders. These individuals, regardless of the danger, fought for the safety of other people. All over the country, and specifically at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York, these memorials serve as a symbol of the living lost, alongside the might of the my country.
