1win Helps Bring Light to 1,000 Homes in Dharavi — A Step Toward a Brighter Tomorrow

1win Charity has taken steps to improve living conditions in Dharavi, one of the most densely populated areas in Mumbai. As part of its global “We Care. We Share” program, the organization delivered portable solar lamps and food kits to more than 250 families, giving children and their parents access to a stable and eco-friendly light source.

The “Light for Dharavi” initiative fits into the broader development plans for the area. Thanks to the solar lamps provided by 1win, more than 1,000 residents received a practical and quick solution for lighting their homes while waiting for improvements in housing conditions. Once the government’s program is completed, families will be able to take these solar lamps with them to their new homes.

In addition, 1win volunteers installed some of the lamps in community spaces such as narrow streets and open squares, making these areas safer for children to walk and play in during the evenings.

The project was supported by well-known film and television actors Gurmeet Choudhary and Nia Sharma, who helped distribute the aid and shared their thoughts on the campaign. They noted, “Light gives people the ability to live longer and feel safer about tomorrow. It allows mothers to cook, fathers to work, and children to study or play. Seeing so many homes lit up fills our hearts. Thanks to 1win for making a real difference for hundreds of people across Dharavi.”
