Indian multinational conglomerate, Welspun said it received two awards from the government of Telangana for its outstanding contribution. The recognition was presented at the Telangana Industrial Growth Festival, as part of the celebrations commemorating a decade of Telangana's formation.

Hyderabad Indian multinational conglomerate, Welspun said it received two awards from the government of Telangana for its outstanding contribution. The recognition was presented at the Telangana Industrial Growth Festival, as part of the celebrations commemorating a decade of Telangana's formation.

Welspun received the award for its commitment towards the advancement of the Textile industry in Telangana. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister for Education, Government of Telangana; Dr S Harish, Collector - Ranga Reddy District; Teegala Anitha Reddy, ZP Chairperson - Ranga Reddy District; and Rajeshwar Reddy, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, presented the first award.

The second award was presented in recognition of its contribution, during the Telangana Parishramika Pragathi Utsavam. The second award was presented by K T Rama Rao, Minister for Industries, IT, Govt of Telangana; Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Budha Prakash Jyothi, Secretary, Handlooms and Textiles, Govt of Telangana and V Madhusudan, CEO, TSIIC.

Speaking on the recognition, Welspun spokesperson said, “These prestigious awards stand as a testament to our dedication to the textile industry’s growth in Telangana. Welspun remains committed to leveraging its resources and expertise to uplift the surrounding communities and contribute to the State’s overall progress.”

The spokesperson further said that Welspun’s recent investment of Rs 2,000 crore in dedicated facilities for flooring and advanced textiles has had a transformative impact on the economic well-being of its operational areas in Telangana. This commitment to the local communities echoes Welspun’s successful endeavor in Anjar in 2006, where a semi-arid region was revitalized into a thriving community.”
