US team meets VPA officials over naval ship visit to Vizag

Visakhapatnam Maren Lawrence, Member of US Defence Attaché Office along the US Embassy team, New Delhi and Hyderabad visited Visakhapatnam Port Authority on Saturday to discuss over the visit of an American naval ship to the city in August.

Durgesh Dubey, Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam VPA, gave a warm welcome to the US Defence team.

The Deputy Chairman through power point presentation briefed the US Defence team of the Infrastructure facilities available, capacities in handling of cargo, modernization and mechanization, covered storage facilities, Solar Power, Sewage Treatment Plant for internal and industrial purpose, investment potential and zone of opportunities in exploring imports and export improvements in Visakhapatnam Port.

Member, USDAO informed that the purpose of the team visit. He said that the US Naval Warship USS Frank Cable is scheduled to visit Visakhapatnam Port for naval exercise during the first week of August 2022.

Member, USDAO requested Visakhapatnam Port to coordinate with the concerned and to make necessary logistic arrangements and also thanked the VPA for quick response and hospitality.
