Reliance Jio discontinues exclusive recharge packs

Hyderabad Reliance Jio, India's leading telecom operator has discontinued two of its prepaid recharge packs which were exclusive for Jio Phone.

The Rs 39 and Rs 69 plans are no longer listed on Jio's official website. Additionally, the company has also discontinued the 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' recharge offer on many of its plans.

The move comes just a day ahead of the most-anticipated Jio Phone Next launch in India in partnership with Google, on September 10. We can speculate the company might also introduce a dedicated new plan alongside the phone.

The Rs 39 plan offers 100MB of daily data with validity of 14 days with unlimited calls to any network, 100 SMS and added access to Jio apps. Similarly, the Rs 69 plan offers 0.5GB of data per day, unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day, access to the Jio apps, with 14 days of validity. Both the plans are now been discontinued.

It isn't clear whether the telecom network would introduce new plans to replace them. Furthermore, in the view of Covid pandemic across the country, The telecom operator has offered benefits like 300 minutes of free calling and buy 1 get 1 free recharge offer for Jio Phone customers, both of which are now been discontinued.

The latter offers a validity of 365 days with 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS/day, and unlimited calling. The Rs 499 plan offers unlimited voice calls, 3GB data per day, 100 SMS per day, and access to Jio apps. TheRs 666 prepaid plan offers a 56 days validity and brings unlimited voice calls, 3GB data per day, The Rs 888 plan offers 2GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and a free Disney+ Hotstar mobile.
