Star Health and Allied Insurance, one of the leading standalone health insurers, on Friday said it has achieved exceptional claim settlement performance in Visakhapatnam over the past 15 months from April 2022 to June 2023.
The company said it settled Rs 33 crore in claims within the region, further solidifying its commitment to its customers’ satisfaction and financial security. The company paid Rs 30 crore in claim settlements to network hospitals and over Rs 3 crore in claim settlement to non-network hospitals in the region.
Between April 2022 and June 2023, Star Health paid over Rs 28 crore in cashless claim settlement and Rs 5 crore in reimbursement claim settlements in Visakhapatnam.
The company settled all cashless claims within two hours. In most cases, the initial authorisation for cashless treatment was given within two hours. During the 15 months from April 2022 to June 2023, most claims in Visakhapatnam were for surgical treatments amounting to over Rs 18 crore in claims pay-out, medical treatments amounted to Rs 15 crore in claims settlements. Of the total claims paid, over Rs15 crore was paid towards claims made by women and over Rs18 crore was paid towards claims made by men in Visakhapatnam.
