Continuing its impressive performance on the sales front, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant known as Vizag Steel has achieved a turnover of Rs. 28,008 crores during 2021-22, recording a 56% jump over CPLY (Rs.17,956 crores in 2020-2021.

Visakhapatnam Continuing its impressive performance on the sales front, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant known as Vizag Steel has achieved a turnover of Rs. 28,008 crores during 2021-22, recording a 56% jump over CPLY (Rs.17,956 crores in 2020-2021.

The dedicated efforts of the RINL team resulted in best ever export sales of Rs.5,607 crore registering a growth of 37% over CPLY. The sales volume of 5.2 million tonne achieved in 2021-22 also registered an impressive growth of 17% over CPLY. RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Atul Bhatt said on Friday that it is heartening to share with all that the sales turnover of Rs.3501 crore achieved in the month of March, 2022 registered a growth of 6% over CPLY.

RINL ended FY 22 on a high note by registering a record production of 5.77 million tonne of hot metal, 5.272 million tonne of crude steel and 5.13 million tonne of saleable steel which is the best-ever production, since inception despite facing several stiff challenges ranging from Covid-19 pandemic to acute global coking coal shortage.

The CMD congratulated the entire RINL fraternity for its commitment and outstanding performance and expressed confidence that RINL will scale greater heights with rejuvenated team work in future too. The production highlights include record figures in most of the major production parameters in the FY 2021-22 like special emphasis on production of export oriented and value added steel.

The company also performed well on achieving significant techno-economic factors and It has for the first time achieved annual average PCI (Pulverised Coal Injection) of 100 kg/tHM. Specific energy consumption has been reduced to 6.02 Gcal/tCS during the period.
