Visakhapatnam: RashtriyaIspat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has made a major headway since the revival effort by achieving a cash profit of Rs54 crore in January, 2026.

This is the first time RINL, which was on verge of closure before the Centre came to its rescue with a Rs11,440 crore bailout package and the State Government converted power and water tariff arrears worth over Rs2,000 crore into preferential shares, has achieved cash profit. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in a statement expressed his immense satisfaction over the good signs for a turnaround. Before the unveiling of the revival plan, RINL was operating only one of the three blast furnaces with severe cash crunch. Now it is operating all the blast furnaces with full capacity.
