Top rejig at PSU general insurers

The promotion exercise to elevate senior officials of public-sector general insurers in the country will be held through virtual interaction on Friday. The officials that will be taking part in the promotional exercise include those who are already working in Scale-V (assistant general manager) and Scale-VI (deputy general managers) for consideration of promotion to Scale-VI (DGM) and Scale-VII (general manager).

"While there are 32 candidates in fray against the openings for 16 positions in Scale-VII, there will be 192 candidates who will be throwing their hats for promotion against 48 vacancies," said one of the aspirants who didn't wish to be quoted.

The promotional exercise, to be held through virtual interaction on June 18, will be conducted by GIPSA, the unofficial apex body of all the four PSU general insurers (New India, Oriental, United and National). The CMDs of all the four general insurance companies are likely to be there for the exercise which will be chaired by GIPSA chairman, Girish Radhakrishnan, who is currently the CMD of United India Insurance and will be retiring by the month-end. Girish Radhakrishnan, GIPSA chairman, had told Bizz Buzz some time back that "We are working on speeding up promotion exercise."
