Hyderabad As per the directions of the Telangana State Government, with the approval of the Singareni Board of Trustees, the retirement age of Singareni employees has been increased from 60 to 61 years from 30th March last year. N Balaram, Director (Personnel, Finance, P&P) asked CMPF Commissioner and BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta to consider 61 years as the basis for payment of provident fund related pension (CMPF) and contribution to all employees.

Under the direction of Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar, a special team led by the Director is touring Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jharkhand for two days to discuss the use of new technology in Singareni coal mines, raising safety standards in mines, CMPF of employees, etc.

Mallikarjuna Rao, BCCL Director (Personnel), said that the state government has a 51 per cent stake in Singareni Calories and the Center has a 49 per cent stake in the State. He said the workers would benefit by making a quick decision on this. Commissioner Dutta responded positively and assured that the issue of retirement enhancement was in their focus but would be discussed at a meeting of the Board of Trustees.

N Balaram said that Central Mine Planning & Design Institute(CMPDI) is currently reviewing Singareni's four Combined heat and power (CHP) design projects and explosives quality and another CHP will be entrusted with the project. The two companies are also moving forward with mutual cooperation on issues related to coal production and transportation.

He also said that CMPDI was undertaking a drone technology project to estimate the amount of OB extraction in the mines and the possibility of undertaking a similar project in Singareni.
