To ensure evidence-based intervention to improve health outcome, Pragyaan Sustainable Health Outcomes (PRASHO) Foundation was launched at the World Trade Centre Shamshabad interim office on Wednesday. The Foundation will emphasise on collaborations, augment data analytics, capacity building, need-based health research and create a health media interface to provide evidence-based information.

PRASHO Foundation will work both at the clinical service and population level, including the Government and civil society representatives to tackle the public health challenges of blindness and vision impairment, hearing loss, autism and mobility restrictions that lead to disability, pandemic preparedness, anti-microbial resistance, improving the patient journey in cancers, stroke and other non-communicable diseases. PRASHO will also work towards enhancing quality in health care and population health by establishing processes for self-monitoring and accreditation by individuals and organisations. PRASHO Foundation in a press release said that it will engage in efforts to remove inequities in health care including gender, geo-location and socio-economic differentials and engage with communities to improve their understanding and participation in activities that will result in positive health outcomes. It will primarily stress on the gaps in the existing health system, support mechanisms and provide value-based services in niche areas such as data analytics for decision-making.

R Govindhari, the Founder Chairperson, and Dr Ranga Reddy Burri, the Founder Vice-Chairperson of PRASHO Foundation were present at the launch. The brochure of the Foundation was formally released by Y Varaprasad Reddy, Chairman, World Trade Centre, Shamshabad, Visakhapatnam and Hosur.

The Foundation further said that health is a critical component of Sustainable Development. However, there is a lack of equitable access as evidenced-based interventions are either not accessible or not affordable for a significant proportion of the population. The poor use of robust evidence to deliver positive health outcomes is another major hurdle in delivering appropriate need-based health care.
