Hyderabad: The Odisha government has approved seven projects worth Rs 80,125 crore across various sectors, creating job opportunities for 24,552 individuals. The decision came at a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. These investments span Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, and Bhadrak districts.

Granules Life Sciences Private Limited, a major producer of pharmaceuticals, plans to establish a unit in Tata SEZ, Gopalpur, Ganjam district, investing Rs 1,100 crore and creating 1,500 jobs. Granules CZRO Private Limited will also set up a chemical plant in Tata SEZ with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, providing jobs for around 1,000 people.

EG Solwin Hybrid Private Limited is investing Rs 6,330 crore to establish a green ammonia production unit at Tata SEZ, employing 1,050 people. ACME Greentech Urja Private Limited will set up a manufacturing unit in Khurda, investing Rs 36,000 crore and creating 6,300 jobs.

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited, India's largest solar panel manufacturer, plans to invest Rs 12,480 crore in a green ammonia plant in Jagatsinghpur, employing 3,250 people. Action Ispat is expanding its steel production in Jharsuguda with a Rs 21,000 crore investment, generating 10,000 jobs. OFB Tech Private Limited will establish a manufacturing unit in Bhadrak with an investment of Rs 1,615 crore, creating 1,500 jobs.

"The state government has been consistently supportive of business leaders investing in the state. With these projects moving forward, Odisha's economy is expected to experience significant growth, solidifying its position as a choice for investments and industrial development in eastern India," said the Industries Department in a statement.
