BirlaNu Eyes Larger Mkt Share In TG, AP Amid Booming Real Estate
Says both the States contribute 15 per cent to its total revenue; TG, AP among the larger and fastest growing States for the company

Hyderabad: BirlaNu (formerly HIL Ltd), part of CK Birla Group and a home and building products manufacturer, said that with the real estate and construction industry in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh thriving, the company has become the market leader here in roofing, pipes and AAC blocks segment.
BirlaNu manufactures its entire portfolio of products in these two States. Out of its 32 manufacturing facilities present across India and Europe, the company has five units in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The pipes, boards, AAC blocks, panels, roofs, and putty are manufactured at its five plants located in Sanath Nagar (Telangana), Thimmapur (Telangana) and Kondapalli (Andhra Pradesh).
Akshat Seth, Managing Director and CEO, BirlaNu, said: “As the construction activity and real estate is growing in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh we are mindful of seizing this opportunity and participating in both the States’ growth story. There will be expansion within existing brownfield facilities as volumes ramp up, and as the need arises for new greenfield facility we will consider it, however, at the moment there are no specific announcements.” At Thimmapur facility, the production capacity of the unit that manufactures AAC blocks is two lakh kg/m3/year, pipes is about 35,000 metric TPA, panels is about 60,000 metric TPA, and 72,000 TPA of boards.
