Indian Naval Ships to visit six continents as part of 75th I-Day celebration

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav (AKAM) to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, commemorative visits by whips are being undertaken by Indian Navy ships to foreign ports in every continent except Antarctica.

Visakhapatnam As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav (AKAM) to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence, commemorative visits by whips are being undertaken by Indian Navy ships to foreign ports in every continent except Antarctica.

Muscat, Oman INS Chennai & INS Betwa, Singapore INS Saryu, (Africa) Mombasa, Kenya INS Trikand, (Australia)

Perth, Australia -INS Sumedha, (North America)

San Diego, USA INS Satpura

(South America)

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil INS Tarkash and (Europe)

London, UK INS Tarangini.

Various activities and events are being planned at each of these ports by Indian Missions on August 15 during the visit by IN Ships. The most significant amongst these would be the hoisting of our tri colour onboard these ships in the presence of Indian diaspora and distinguished local dignitaries.

"These events are spread across six continents, three oceans and in six different time zones," a naval release stated.

INS Sumedha has already reached Bali, Indonesia on a port visit. During her stay in harbour, professional exchanges and sports fixtures with Indonesian Navy were held. The ship also hosted a visit of Indian diaspora in Bali as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
