Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) on Sunday said it received two awards at the recently concluded 7th Garden Festival- 2022. The airport team bagged the first place in two categories- landscape and traffic island maintenance.
The Telangana Department of Horticulture had organised the event. Senior officials from GHIAL received the awards from S Niranjan Reddy, Minister for Agriculture and Horticulture, Telangana. The event was held at the Public Gardens, Nampally in Hyderabad in the presence of other participants and government officials.
GHIAl official said, “GMR Hyderabad International Airport is renowned for its natural ecosystem, which features a diverse flora and fauna. Its lush landscape has earned widespread recognition for its green initiatives. As the first airport in the nation to pioneer such a landscape, it continues to set a benchmark for sustainability. With meticulous maintenance, the airport’s scenery thrives year-round, enchanting visitors and nurturing the local environment.”
