Hyderabad: Mahindra University, Hyderabad, and Apollo Healthcare Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly launch Bachelor’s programmes in Allied Health Sciences. The collaboration is designed to address the acute shortage of allied health professionals in India and across the globe by offering students a blend of rigorous academics and hands-on clinical training.
The new programmes will cover high-demand specialisations including Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Cardiovascular Technology. Developed in alignment with guidelines from the National Commission for Allied & Healthcare Professionals (NCAHP), the curriculum combines Mahindra University’s academic strengths with Apollo’s clinical expertise.
Students will undergo structured hospital rotations at Apollo Hospitals and affiliated healthcare facilities, culminating in a final-year internship. The partnership will also provide global readiness modules such as bridge programmes, language training, and licensing support. Placement opportunities will be facilitated through Apollo’s extensive hospital and healthcare network.
Highlighting the initiative’s significance, Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University, said, “This collaboration reflects our vision of producing highly skilled healthcare professionals who will make an immediate and lasting impact on society.”
Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, CEO of Apollo Knowledge, added, “By bridging classroom learning with hospital practice, we aim to prepare students for both domestic and international healthcare opportunities.”
According to the World Health Organization, the global shortage of allied health professionals is widening due to rising healthcare demands and aging populations.
This joint initiative positions graduates to contribute meaningfully to health systems worldwide while strengthening India’s healthcare workforce.
With advanced infrastructure, expert faculty, and immersive clinical training, the alliance between Mahindra University and Apollo Healthcare Academy is set to build a pipeline of job-ready healthcare professionals equipped for global impact.
