Homoeopathy is growing steadily in India, driven by rising acceptance, government support, and increasing demand for holistic, affordable, and preventive healthcare solutions.
Homoeopathy is growing steadily in India

Homoeopathy in India is growing steadily with the strong encouragement of the Ministry of AYUSH. “Today, more and more people are looking for healthcare that is gentle, natural, and truly patient-friendly,” says Pratik Shrestha, MD, SBL in an exclusive interaction with Bizz Buzz.
What policy changes or industry collaborations are needed to further integrate Homoeopathy with conventional medical systems in India?
For Homoeopathy to truly work hand-in-hand with conventional medicine, three things are vital: supportive policies, scientific validation, and awareness.
If Homoeopathy is brought under government healthcare programs and insurance coverage, it will make treatment more accessible and ease the financial burden on patients. Large-scale collaborative clinical studies between allopathic and homeopathic doctors can provide clear scientific evidence and highlight the strengths of integrative care. And equally important is creating awareness among doctors, medical students, and policymakers, so that all systems of medicine can come together for the patient’s well-being.
How do you see the role of Homoeopathy evolving in India’s mainstream healthcare system, especially with the government’s initiatives under the Ministry of AYUSH promoting integrative medicine?
Homoeopathy in India is growing steadily with the strong encouragement of the Ministry of AYUSH. Today, more and more people are looking for healthcare that is gentle, natural, and truly patient-friendly. Homoeopathy works in harmony with the body’s own healing power, which makes it a very trusted option for many families.
As awareness about preventive and holistic healthcare deepens, we see Homoeopathy naturally becoming an integral part of the mainstream.
While private healthcare institutions have embraced integrative medicine, public hospitals and insurance providers have been slower in incorporating Homoeopathy. What steps can be taken to ensure greater adoption of Homoeopathy within India’s public healthcare system and insurance coverage policies?
For Homoeopathy to grow meaningfully within public healthcare, three steps are very important.
First, inclusion in insurance policies — so patients can choose Homoeopathy without worrying about costs. Second, scaling up Homoeopathy clinics under the AYUSH initiative in government hospitals — making them more visible, accessible, and credible. And third, strong awareness programs for policymakers, doctors, and the public — to highlight the preventive and complementary role that Homoeopathy can play in healthcare
Homoeopathy faces skepticism due to limited large-scale clinical trials. How is SBL contributing to the scientific validation and evidence-based credibility of Homoeopathy?
It is true that skepticism often arises because of the limited number of large-scale studies in Homoeopathy. At SBL, we take this as both a challenge and a responsibility. That is why we have committed ourselves to raising the standard of care and evidence in Homoeopathy.
We are investing in research, both in-house and through collaborations with some of the esteemed institutions. Together with medical experts, research organizations, and universities, we conduct clinical trials, publish results, and carefully document cases. By doing this, we aim to build a strong body of evidence that gives confidence to both doctors and patients, and reaffirms that Homoeopathy has a rightful place in evidence-based healthcare.
With the rising burden of lifestyle disorders such as diabetes, hypertension, and mental health issues, how can Homoeopathy work alongside conventional treatments to offer better patient outcomes?
Lifestyle disorders are on the rise and often need long-term, compassionate care. Here, Homoeopathy can play an important complementary role. Our remedies are gentle, safe, and non-toxic, so they can be taken alongside prescribed medicines without the risk of harmful interactions.
Beyond symptom management, Homoeopathy addresses deeper concerns such as stress, emotional balance, and immunity. This makes it a powerful partner in long-term health management.
What are the key trends driving the growth of Homoeopathy worldwide, and how is SBL positioning itself to leverage these opportunities?
Worldwide, three strong trends are shaping the growth of Homoeopathy. They include a preference for natural, safe, and chemical-free remedies, a growing focus on preventive care and overall wellness and easier access through digital platforms.
SBL is deeply aligned with these shifts. With our diverse product portfolio, advanced manufacturing facilities, and extensive distribution network, we continue to make high-quality, affordable remedies available in India and across global markets. Our commitment is to ensure that safe and natural healthcare remains within everyone’s reach.
